HVAC repair when the system quits on you

Air conditioning and heating repair with real diagnostics behind it, so you fix the actual problem the first time.

When a system goes down in August, the fastest fix is not always the right one. We have seen too many homeowners sold a compressor when the problem was a 40 dollar contactor, or a whole new system when the real issue was a collapsed flex duct in the attic.

Our approach is to measure first. Static pressure, superheat and subcool, temperature split, capacitor microfarads, amp draw under load. Those numbers tell us what is actually wrong instead of what is easiest to sell.

Then you get a plain explanation, a firm price, and the choice. Repair it, or if the math genuinely favors replacement, we will show you the math rather than asking you to take our word for it.

Why it matters

What you get out of it.

All major brands

Trane, Carrier, Goodman, Lennox, Rheem, York, Amana, American Standard, Daikin, Mitsubishi and the rest. Residential split systems, packaged units, heat pumps and mini splits.

24/7 response

Texas heat does not keep business hours. Call or text any time and we will tell you honestly when we can be there.

Price before we turn a wrench

You approve the repair cost before any work starts. No surprise line items when the invoice shows up.

The readings come with you

We leave you the measurements we took. If you ever want a second opinion, you have real data to hand the next person.

Know the signs

When to make the call.

  • It runs but the house never cools

Usually low charge, a restricted coil, a duct problem or a failing compressor. Four very different repairs, and only measurement tells them apart.

  • The outdoor unit hums and will not start

Classic failed run capacitor or contactor. Cheap parts, quick fix, and no reason to replace a system over it.

  • Ice on the lines or coil

Airflow restriction or low refrigerant. Shut it off before the compressor takes the damage and call us.

  • Water around the air handler

A plugged condensate drain, which will trip a safety switch at best and stain a ceiling at worst.

  • Breaker trips when it kicks on

Never a nuisance. Something is drawing more current than it should, and repeated resets damage equipment.

No surprises

Exactly what the job includes.

  • Full system diagnostic with recorded readings, not a guess from the curb
  • Capacitor, contactor, relay and control board testing under load
  • Refrigerant charge verified by superheat and subcool, weighed in when needed
  • Leak search with electronic detection before we add refrigerant to a leaking system
  • Blower motor, ECM module and thermostat diagnosis
  • Condensate drain clearing and safety switch testing
  • Static pressure measured, because most airflow complaints start in the ductwork
  • Written repair options with firm pricing before anything is replaced

How it goes

The process, start to finish.

  • Call or text

Tell us what the system is doing. Some problems we can narrow down before we roll a truck, which saves you time.

  • Diagnose and measure

A flat 100 dollar service call covers a complete diagnostic. You get the numbers, not just a verdict.

  • Approve the price

We quote the repair before we touch it. If parts have to be ordered, you will know the timeline up front.

  • Fix it and verify

We take a second round of readings after the repair to prove the system is actually performing, then clean up the workspace.

HVAC Repair questions

What does an HVAC repair call cost?

The diagnostic service call is a flat 100 dollars and covers a full system evaluation with recorded readings. Repair pricing is quoted before any work begins, so you approve the number first.

Do you charge extra for nights and weekends?

We answer the phone 24/7. After hours calls can carry a premium depending on the time and the drive, and we tell you the number on the phone before we head out. No one gets a surprise.

Should I repair my AC or replace it?

It depends on the age of the equipment, what the repair costs and what refrigerant it uses. A ten year old system needing a 400 dollar capacitor and contactor is worth repairing. A sixteen year old R-22 unit needing a compressor usually is not. We will show you the comparison and let you decide.

How fast can you get here?

Same day is normal around Bandera, Pipe Creek, Lakehills, Helotes and Boerne, and often for greater San Antonio. Kerrville depends on what is already booked. When we cannot get there we say so instead of leaving you waiting on a window that was never real.

My system uses R-22. Can you still service it?

Yes. R-22 is no longer produced, so it is expensive and getting harder to source, but we can still repair those systems. We will also tell you plainly when the refrigerant cost has tipped the math toward replacement.
